Returning Player (just before odyssey) what are the new ships best for? and other things

Sorry, I left just before odyssey, I think the newest ship then was the mamba?

Are the new ships the best at what they are designed for? (might buy the huge mining ship / explorer) or are there other ships that still do it better? IE Python just beats everything?

What do folks do these days? are there any new missions, things to go for etc?

Or is it back to exploring and mining?

also do players even walk around in the stations?

After a couple days planted Ive realised this Acer is getting a lot of wind, granted its a bit windy but come summer I feel it may get burnt, My reasoning for it being there was that it only got morning sunlight, but the fence might be forcing the wind down

Any ideas folk might have to protect it would be great thanks.
