Although I haven't used it yet, you can now (theoretically) unmatch a passenger from the safety hub now.

Your stats are great, but profitability is gone way down. I've got kids to feed. (And rent to pay) The irony is, (if I'm still in the area around that time) I will probably end up with that ride anyway. While I accept most ride that come my way. I'm not actively seeking out garbage offers.

Ironically, my final "earnings guarantee" hit yesterday. (And it was a big one) The shady part is, it counts as a "bonus" so it counts as part of your percentage earned. (Even though it's supposed to be a refund for earnings taken the previous week) I had already become accustomed to receiving a refund every other week. Switching from weekly to a monthly model, allows them to throttle fees up or down to minimize refunds across 4 weeks. (As opposed to just 7 days) Remember when it was just a 20% Lyft fee from each individual ride? Of course, back then, there were no rate cards, and we had no idea where we were going until we arrived at pickup.

So last night, I'll pick up these two gentlemen who have their dog with them. To be fair, they asked if it was okay to bring their dog to which I obliged. After the fact, I went ahead and told Lyft's chatbot these passengers had their dog with them and did not order a pet ride. (I know Lyft they screw their drivers not their passengers) I figured there would just give me four bucks and call it a night. **That was not the case**.

I was told because I accepted and completed the ride, I wasn't entitled to additional compensation. What I was supposed to do was refuse the ride and asked them to do a pet ride instead. (Yeah like that'll work) I told them if I did that, they would simply claim it to service animal, knowing that my hands are tied.

I was given this nugget, and a bunch of mumbo jumbo about how service animals are protected. I get it, but people are Aholes. For as long as I've been doing this, I've gotten (maybe) three legitimate service animals, hundreds of pets, and precisely two "pet rides." I simply don't refuse them anymore, because I don't have time (or energy) to argue. Just hop in, we complete the three or so minute ride, roll down all the windows at the drop off point, and "wind tunnel" the vehicle for the next 10 minutes or so. If there's a significant mess, I report it and (hopefully) get paid. Otherwise, I just move along.

PS: They unmatched me from the passenger. **I didn't ask them to do that**! It was actually a short but pleasant ride. Of course the bot claims that there is no way to reverse the decision, but they "understand my frustration."

My market no longer displays it, but my acceptance rate is... "high." I enjoy the experience and this had been my escape. "Had been." The absurdly oversaturated markets were unideal, but manageable. Even **I** said "no" to the garbage offered above.

Due to unforseen circumstances, I'm using a Lyft rental. The way the program works, is every (digital) penny you earn goes directly into the rental until the weekly fee is satisfied. **Then** you can earn into your pockets.

The week resets every Monday morning at 0500 so this one ride would have eaten up a considerable amount of my remaining time. Not to mention, the audacity of that compensation offer. It was already nearly 3am on a Sunday night, so the rides back home would go straight into the rental for the following week.

On another note, crappy offers aside towards the end of my night, I'll filter to a local fuel station that I can claim both Lyft **and** loyalty discounts. Literally 300 feet from my destination, they offer another ride going somewhere else. (For better pay) I seriously hate these games.
