I'm fairly new to working at target. Mainly I was scheduled and trained for presentation in the morning. Now I'm being scheduled closing for zoning the next few weeks. On my first day closing I was told to zone and re shop two areas of the store without any training or instruction on what to do. I just grabbed a cart and grabbed returns from guest service and went through the Aisles of my assigned areas. I put items in the right spots and brought everything to the front. Honestly I have no idea what I was doing but the TLs and TMs all look super busy that I didn't get to ask any questions.
What do I do with items that don't have a spot on the sales floor? Discontinued items?
What do I do with items that have open or slight ripped packaging? Items that can't hang from a peg because the hole to hang it it's broken?
How to become faster at zoning?
Why do most items are overstock? (I'm guessing we backstock what doesn't fit)
If someone could explain this and give me tips it will greatly appreciate.
