Works phone rule is stupid
So I work in a office and we have a phone rule that phones have to be in your locker or in the break room but it's not an "official" rule. It only became one because certain coworkers were caught being on them and of course ruined it for everyone. I keep my phone on me because I'm a grown ass adult, this isn't high school, and my phone is my property, I should be able to keep it in my pocket. Also I don't use it when I'm working, its not a distraction to me. I like to keep it on me for safety reasons and I just don't trust people to just not touch my personal property. Our office manger has told us if someone needs to contact us for an emergency they can call the office. Listen if someone in my life needs to talk to me because of an emergency they're not calling the office they're calling me directly.
The phones being a problem came up today when a coworker who has been the issue in the past was on her phone making a doctors appointment, when she could of done that during our lunch break. Our OM saw her on her phone and then came to me and another coworker and told us to put our phones in the break room because the other coworker ratted us out.
I know this is stupid and not a big deal but its just the fact I hate suffering the consequences of other peoples actions.
