Engine recall question

I have a 2015 Elantra and the engine failed on my at about 138,000. 2nd time in 4 months it has stalled, last time I got the oil pressure switched replaced. This time they found it low on oil even though I had 1000 miles until my next oil change and said the cylinder had a scratch in it. $6100 to replace. I’ve done some research and seen that this engine has loads of issues and has some recalls out for it. My question is, even though I’m the 3rd owner, is it still possible to go to corporate so I can get money to get it replaced. I’ve seen other people that have done it that weren’t original owners but I am not sure whether I would qualify. Additionally, I do not know where I would store the car while I wait for corporate to get to my request if it was possible to replace.

What should I do in this situation?

I have a 2015 Hyundai Elantra with about 130k miles on it and the engine needs to be replaced. I bought about a year ago but that shouldn’t really factor into the decision. The quoted cost of replacing the engine with a used engine is $6100 (car was bought for $6500 + tax and fees). I have heard that Toyotas and Hondas are more reliable and I have found a 2012 Camry with 144k miles for $10k. I am wondering whether my best bet would be to replace the engine for 6k, find another car similar in quality to the Elantra with similar miles for about 7k, or is it worth the additional $3k and 20,000 more miles to go with a more quality car like the 2012 Camry (assuming that it has a good maintenance history which I have not been able to check yet)
