(Spoilers Main) Various Arcs in the Story

I'm curious as to what everyone thinks. I am wondering if GRMM retconned or changed things after he first started writing when it comes to these arcs:

  1. Aegon V is three generations removed from brother-sister incest. He arranges marriages for his children to other houses. It doesn't seem like he planned to marry his kids at ridiculously young ages like Alysanne and Jahaerys did to their kids-Shaera & Jahaerys are in their mid teens when they eloped, which means they were likely meant to marry their spouses when they were 17-which is more normal than poor Aemma Arryn being married off at like 10 and Daella at 15.

And yet, Aegon V, who doesn't seem to care about blood purity, who doesn't seem to endorse child marriages (at least by Westeros standards)....is fine with his 12 and 13 year old grandkids Aerys II & Rhaella marrying.

It seems wildly out of character with what was previously established, even with the wood witch. Even if he believed the prophecy, why not make Jahaera and Shaera wait to marry Aerys and Rhaella until they were older?

  1. It's established that Dorne has ties with Essos. Doran is married to a woman from Essos, he has a friend in Pentos, Oberyn spends a lot of time in Essos and fathers a few of his daughters there, etc. There's a mention of at least one Martell ancestor (besides Doran) also being married to a man from Essos.

Why doesn't JonCon try and contact Oberyn when Oberyn is in Essos to help him with Young Griff/Aegon/FAegon? If something happens to JonCon, wouldn't he want Oberyn to be aware so someone else could "verify" Aegon's identity.

If Illyrio and Varys want FAegon to rule, why are they helping out Dany and Viserys? I've seen people say they think those two would have been seen as awful by Westeros by bringing over Dothraki, so that would pave the way for FAegon..but even then it seems odd.

  1. If Rhaegar and Lyanna is meant to be a love story (ugh), why have "all smiles die" when he crowns her (implying Lyanna was unhappy) and Lyanna say "Robert won't keep to one bed" if she then has as love story with a married man with two kids.

This obviously is not retconning, as it is in the same story....but why are many of the lords so against Rhaenys (or Laenor) ruling when that's the way the rest of the realm works in terms of inheritance....but absolutely fine with Viserys unilaterally deciding his daughter inherits over his son (unheard of outside of Dorne), especially when said daughter has obvious bastards. Not to mention GRMM hits us over the head again and again with how bastards are treated in Westeros in the main story, but in F & B it's no biggie? And before someone says "they aren't bastards" GRMM himself has said they boys are bastards.
