My 4 friends and I had a trip planned to Miami on May 22-24 (Memorial Day weekend). We booked with spirit airlines because it had the most convenient time slot for our schedules. However, with the sudden spirit airlines shutdown we were unable to find a replacement flight most convenient to us. Per the Host refund policy we were able to get a full refund before April 22nd and 50% refund prior to May 15. But with how sudden the airlines shutdown happened, we were wondering if a full refund was possible. I spoke with the host and they informed me to contact support. Once I spoke with support they told me that the refund needed to be approved by the host. Then the host replied and said, if they cancel now they would end up paying fees so they were confused as to why support is putting it all on them. I was posting this subreddit to ask if there was anything in the policy that would cover Spirit’s sudden shutdown. Because right now I am stuck going back and forth with the host and the airbnb support. Or am I just cooked and should I just settle with the 50% refund?
