I was eating just now and felt something hard. It took me a minute to realize this was my tooth slowly disintegrating. I have about 5 pieces, thankfully I didn’t swallow any, it’s still partially there but yeah partially gone now.
I had a regular check up this week and they discovered I had a cracked tooth. Also I told them of another tooth where I had a fill-in, both had tooth sensitivity. This is the tooth that fell out. They advised me to get both crowned which I agreed too. They then fitted both teeth and made temporary crowns, I think it’s a plastic substance. They both seem to be wearing off already along with the fill-in tooth that is now broken. I had tartar build up - had not been to the dentist in 4-5 years - so they gave me a deep clean.
My teeth felt fine before going to the dentist, a couple days later one fell out. My teeth did not hurt at all before this except slight tooth sensitivity every now and again with hot and cold food.
I had a bad experience with another dental office which is why I stayed away for so long. And now this. What could’ve happened and why would my tooth fall out? Has anyone ever heard of this before? Obviously it had something to do with the temporary crowning process and maybe the deep clean. Your input is greatly appreciated.
