I think I just started my first period of peri and I'm 41. I went about 45 days between bleeding and I had no idea what to expect. In the past, my periods would come every 3.5 weeks and would last 5-6 day: 2 days of light bleeding, 2 days of heavy, then it tapers off. This past Monday, all hell broke loose. Bleeding has been heavy EVERY SINGLE DAY with no end in sight. To make matters worse, I just started a new job the week before last and I was not prepared to start my period, so I ended up bleeding through 2 pairs of pants. Smh. I can't go more than 3 hours without changing tampons and I have to wear a pad at all times to catch any drips. I didn't really have any symptoms before tbe bleeding started (no sore boobs, no fatigue, no cramps).
I know everyone's experience is different, but tell me what I can expect going forward. How long does the bleeding last for you? How long do dry spells last for you? I don't ever want to be unprepared again. I thought my days of buying tampons were over.
Also, I want to cry right now bc I just found this sub and the way everyone speaks so freely about their experiences makes me feel really comfortable and I want to hug each one of you!
