Ok so I know the title is long, but I have a half Thai friend who's father just died recently this year.
Their Thai mother has cancer, so they been taking care of her instead of continuing their studies or working.

At the jpa earlier today, when their older half siblings want with them to approve the pending pencen for my friend half of the family.
Suddenly the jpa asks to go to perjabat agama to update the current passport number on the already existing Surat nikah
Their mother has 2 passports, one is Thai and the other one is Myanmar. The Thai one is the one that already died. They had some difficulties renewing the Thai one back when their father is alive.
My friend is very confused and stressed out as it feels like the government workers are just playing around with them. I don't know how to help them so I thought about asking here for advice
