Starlink suddenly blocking Atlas on iPhone only, thinks it's Malware
Atlas Earth would not load on my partner's iPhone. It sits there at 0% for about 2 minutes before saying "Can't connect to servers please check your internet." It works perfectly fine on my Pixel phone.
I figured it was something his phone was doing, but no matter what I tried I couldn't get it to work. Unless I turn the wifi off. Then it works fine. So the issue is with the wifi, but why his phone and not mine? We are both on the same Starlink wifi.
So I went to change the ISP through the Starlink app and found a setting that filters content. This has been set to "malware - filter known malicious content" since I set up Starlink. I changed it to "no filtering" and Atlas started working on the iPhone while on wifi.
What about the iPhone is telling Starlink that Atlas Earth is now Malware?
SOLVED: Apple devices on the same Apple account can connect to each other and use either device as the primary location for all devices. The iPhone's location setting was set to use the iPad. The iPad does not have a GPS, so it uses the Starlink IP address as its location. Starlink notoriously puts people in other states. Once I switched the location setting to use the iPhone, Atlas worked perfectly on wifi. It also inadvertently fixed the issue with Google Home giving him the weather for a city we are nowhere near.
