I got shrimp 5 days ago, 7 neo-caradina that were different colours. 1 small clear, 2 medium lighter blue, 1 medium darker blue, 1 medium red/orange, 1 large maroon coloured and 1 large dark green. Acclimated them correctly and they all seemed happy. Next morning I woke up to all but the darker blue and the green one unresponsive, but managed to revive the red one by putting it in a cup with an oxygen pump. I assumed I had done something wrong so tested the water twice a day, making sure I fed them the correct amounts and did small water changes daily. Yesterday I woke up to find the red one had passed. The green one seems fine and the light blue one I'm assuming is just hidden in the plants as I've not found it on the floor of the tank.

Today I went to the shop I got them from, brought a water sample and explained what happened, water peramiters and ammonia came back fine. The shop owner told me he's only seen it once before, and thinks the green shrimp is killing the other shrimp, if the other shrimp is alive I'm going to bring it to him tomorrow so it doesn't get killed too, but I'm going to keep the green one. The owner gave me some snails to live alongside the lone shrimp. My tank is a small tank with live plants that I only wanted shrimp in, it's too small for fish, so I don't mind keeping the murder shrimp with a couple of snails as he seems happy 😅😅

Anyway... Anyone got any name ideas?

Just got these clown isopods for my snails today, just spotted this behaviour, I'm assuming moulting behaviour but I'm not sure? Also it's currently on a piece of aubergine/egg plant that my gals is currently eating 😅 should I move the isopod/the piece of food it's on?

I set 4 free last night, 2 males and 2 females, expecting them to fly off and find a tree to lay their eggs on, just checked to see they had gone and to make sure they hadn't layed eggs on this pole and there is now 6 🤣 also found 22 eggs in the container I had them in, so one of them had already laid eggs before I got home to set them free 😅

Anyone know if they will fly off of there to find the right plants for their eggs or will they lay their eggs on that? If they won't do that I'll collect any eggs they lay and set the caterpillars free once they hatch on a food plant, I got home from work super late last night and I'd just assumed they'd fly away.
