Is Octavia overprotected, or overprioritized by the fandom? Or are her needs so oversimplified that it ignores the reality of her situation and those around her even if he wishes do get fulfilled?

Is Octavia overprotected, or overprioritized by the fandom? Or are her needs so oversimplified that it ignores the reality of her situation and those around her even if he wishes do get fulfilled?

Most will say that her needs revolve around Stolas not doing what she wants, or him neglecting her needs when he needs her the most, but even then it feels like that her dad suddenly doing the right thing for her won't fix the overarching issues that plague her character; that just because he changes for her doesn't mean the other members of her life, her mom and uncle are going to change for her benefit. And yes, her mom and uncle are a problem too, one that she's either unaware of or downplays, depending on your point of view.

However, I think the issue is when talking about Octavia she's not really talked about, not everything about her. They only focus on the stuff that makes her feel sad, or anything that won't paint her in a positive light. This does not mean she's a bad character but it feels like her bad character traits, her selfishness, unawareness, and lack of being proactive in her own life can be a problem. Sure she's a teen character and her archetype is usually built around that but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be talked about or downplayed simply because we feel bad for her. If not handled carefully, it could turn sympathy into pity and that's not really a good thing. Octavia's' character deserves better than that but putting on the kitty gloves on her character isn't going to help.

Barbie's Bad Day: Seeing who Barbie Wire is on her own without Blitz (or having him to blame for her circumstances). Is this the second coming of a Hell's Belles type shorts?

With the new short coming on April 24th being about Barbie, it stands to reason that it's going to be about her life and struggles. At the same time, this short might be what Hell's Belles was like, it not being an assassination mission but a character driven short, when it involved Millie and Sallie Mae.

Chances are this short will take place sometime after Unhappy Campers at best, or maybe before if by some miracle. If it's after, we'll get to see what kind of life she lives and what choices she makes without Blitz around, or without him there to blame; sure she can blame Blitz and IMP for ruining her drug operation but it's not like anything after that isn't on her. Maybe when we see how she deals with life, how she treats others, and how others treat her will we get some real perspective on who Barbie Wire is as an individual.

Admittingly, since someone brought this up, there's a chance that Verosika might be in this short too due to the pink in the title; and it's been stated that they knew each other in rehab but odds are they hate each other since Verosika did call her a "sad, lose washout". But I won't hold my breath on that.

What are your thoughts on this upcoming short?
