I built this pond on impulse, bought a couple pumps on sale and a liner and rocks at Lowe’s, dug a hole and threw some minnows in that I already had inside. Was pretty happy with the results even though I knew I should have gone deeper. It’s about 1.25 feet deep at the deepest. Flash forward a few weeks and I think there must already be some leak in the liner somewhere because one morning it was suddenly half empty.
I figured I should probably take the time to do it right so got a proper 45 mil EPDM liner and underlayment to start over. But now I’m scared to mess up again. Any tips on what I should do differently this time besides try to get deeper? Main goal was the look and sound of water, the minnows didn’t seem to enjoy the pond much, always staying hidden and the fountain also obscures much ability to see the fish. Undecided if I will add any again.
