Struggling HARD in Heroic with Striker… is it my build or just me?

Hey agents, I could really use some advice with my striker builds.

I recently came back to the game and started fresh with a new character. I’m around SHD 180-something now. About a month ago I moved up from Challenging to Heroic, and I’ve put together 3 different Striker builds… but with all of them I feel like I’m constantly fighting for my life instead of being comfortable in Heroic.

Build 1:

This is the first one I used — 3 blue cores / 3 red cores. I’m running the Equalizer chest and a backpack from the UA brand set with Bloodsucker. This one gave me decent sustain, but in Heroic enemies feel super bullet spongy and my damage just isn’t there.

Build 2:

This is a variation using the Hyena exotic mask. This is the one I’ve liked the most so far, but I still can’t get a good balance of CHC/CHD. Also, since it has fewer blue cores, I die way more — if I get flanked or make one mistake, I’m dead.

Build 3:

Striker + Memento backpack. Haven’t tested this one much yet, to be honest.

Another thing I think I’m struggling with is stats in general. I don’t fully understand how to properly stack CHC and CHD or what numbers I should be aiming for. Sometimes I feel kinda “locked” into using the Chameleon — like if I swap it out, my CHC drops a lot and everything feels worse.

Same with weapons and attachments — I think they can increase CHC and CHD, but I’m not really sure how that works exactly. Whenever I try to adjust them, it feels like I’m sacrificing one stat to improve the other, and I don’t know what’s actually optimal.

So yeah… I’m not sure what I’m missing. Is it just my SHD level — do I basically need to get closer to 1000 — or is it more about experience and gameplay?

For example, in Summit, if I run anything close to full red and Rogue Agents spawn, I die like 100% of the time 😅

On one hand, I want to deal way more damage, but I always keep at least 1 blue core because otherwise I feel way too squishy.

What am I missing to make Heroic feel like a breeze? I’ve seen people running even Legendary full red like it’s nothing… am I just bad? lol

Any tips would be appreciated 🙏 (I play mostly solo or duos)
