Our house came with a 15 foot semi inground teknowood pool sand bottom that had a torn liner, but came with a sand filter (LaserJet 125) and broken pump.
First year, we hired a company (they installed an above ground liner which later tore) and I purchased a hayward 1.5 HP pump.
Year 2, patched the liner as the pool company went bankrupt.
Year 3, liner tore more and no longer repairable, so we hired a reputable company that dug a little deeper in the sand bottom, removed some cement around the bottom and installed a 30mil gauge liner for 3k cad.
Year 4, no issues but family complained of cold water.
Year 5, no issues, purchased a 90k btu water heat pump NorthFlo PSNF90VS towards the end of the season and had it installed with bypass valves. Used it for 2 months and family loved it.
Year 6, used the pool all summer, heated well, family was in pool each day but electric bill was 200$/m running pump 6-8 hours a day with the heater kicking on.
Throughout year 6, one of the bypass valves cracked and began dripping, as well as the sand filter intake valve casing. I patched them to last, but the the pump died.
I purchased and installed VIVOHOME 2.0 HP Powerful Self Primming 6950 GPH, which worked great for the remaining 3 months.
Now I'm on year 7, I have purchased all the piping, connections, and valves to redo the system. Instead of buying a new sand filter head for 200$cad, I purchased a used xstream CC150 that included 3 filters.
This is my plan, please correct me if it can be done better.
-Pool skimmer to pump (VIVOHOME 2.0 HP Powerful Self Primming 6950 GPH) .
-Pump to a bypass valve, which will allow the draining and cleaning of pool.
-bypass valve to filter (hayward xstream CC150)
-filter to bypass valve (for bypassing heater when shocking pool).
-bypass valve to heatpump (NorthFlo PSNF90VS)
-heater to clearblue ionizer.
-ionizer to return pipe jet.
I've also been looking for a wifi breaker switch that I can remotely power on the heater for when I just want to cycle the water and not run the heater, and then turn on the heater whenever. The heatpump usually increases the temperature 1c per hour, and has previously been able to heat the pool water to 40c.
Thank you
