We are currently around Season 8, and the return of Chapter 1 has been an absolute W. I’ve been playing since Ch1S2, and honestly, I haven't even touched the standard BR lately because OG is just built different.
But there’s an elephant in the room: What happens when we hit Season X and it’s over?
Do we just lose the classic maps, the old movement, and the original loot pool all over again? Taking away this massive nostalgic W would be a huge mistake. Reload is cool, but a mini-map doesn't give you that true Battle Royale feeling.
Here is a concept that players from ALL eras would play daily: The "Fortnite Eras" Mode (Unranked/Ranked).
How it works:
- The Map Rotation: Instead of one map, the playlist rotates 3 FULL classic maps every season. For example, Season 1 of "Eras" could have: Ch1S4, Ch2S2, and Ch3S4 in the pool. You queue up, and you drop into one of them randomly.
- The Authentic Experience: 100 players. Original POIs. Authentic loot pools for that specific map. Old movement. No cars with turrets, no crazy medallions—just pure classic Fortnite.
- Why Epic should do this: It solves the "I miss the old map" complaint FOREVER. It keeps the massive OG player base engaged without interfering with the main storyline of the current Chapter.
Alternative: If running three full 100-player maps simultaneously is a server nightmare, make it a "Mini-Zone Wars" mode but using the exact original map chunks and original loot.
We know Epic has the assets backed up. We know the engine can handle it. Let’s get this upvoted so Epic sees it before Season X ends! Who else would main this mode?
