Spacing Becomes Inconsistent
Hi All!
I’m having ceramic 12”x12” tile put into my recently purchased dream home.
My contractor started off doing an amazing job laying the tile until we got to the front of my door and starting to notice drifting and inconsistent lines. This resulted in spacing to go from my original ask of 1/8” to nearly 1/2” to probably 3/4”.
My contractor states that the tile is not all measured the same and therefore is the result for this uneven spacing. He states that he can put grout and color it in to hid the larger spacing. I’m afraid this may look bad after.
Ive been asking around for advice and I get conflicting opinions on the matter and could use the help to understand what went wrong.
Ive attached some photos for reference. You can notice the inconsistent layout it seems from the picture with the measuring tape furthest away.
