Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I would like to ask you wise people if taking MCJROTC or varsity swimming from sophomore all the way to the end of high school is better for getting into an ivy league college.
I'm currently a freshman and am taking MCJROTC but not swimming. For next year, i was thinking that I should either go with MCJROTC for all 4 years or swimming for the next 3 years cause I heard that colleges don't like seeing students changing between things too much. For swimming, I'm like 99% sure I'll be able to make varsity, but I don't think I'll do something like break state records etc. For reference, I haven't swam in a meet in november, but i'd estimate my times for the 100 free to be like 58/59 seconds, 25 seconds for 50 free, and 28 second for the 50 breast all SCY. In ROTC, I'm currently a Lance Corporal rank. For the rest of highschool, I'm taking a lot of related AP and honors classes, so I'm not worried for the academic part. I also won't lose out on a period cause I can take one of my classes for 0 period if I do ROTC or swimming. I'm also confident that i'll be able to manage everything academically, and ROTC/swimming won't get in the way of it.
Which do you guys think I should do? rotc all 4 years or swimming for the next 3 years, or a mix of both?
thanks in advance! I really appreciate it 🥹
(edited for a little more specifics on swimming)
