I need help to not get screwed over and if you all think this is reasonable I’ll do it.

1. Daughters shower won’t get hot even though the others do. Need to replace cartridge in the shower handle. $960

1. Toilet tank won’t consistent fill up, sometimes you have to push down on the center cylinder and it will immediately fill up. Someone replaced the seal already and it still does it randomly.

They said they can fix this for $1000 or replace the whole toilet for $1600. Toilet looks fine other than the fill issue - no cracks. From 2009.

3. Said my shut off valve is - “Home Depot special” and should replace it even though it’s not leaking. $260

Am I being scammed?

I’m in Illinois - Chicago suburbs
