Missing money in MvM isn’t always the Scout’s fault
I was playing MvM earlier as Scout, and my team kept getting angry every time a bit of money was missed. I get that collecting cash is mainly the Scout’s role, but there are situations where it’s just not possible to grab everything alone.
At one point I couldn’t safely reach it without instantly dying. I apologized for missing some cash,i even said im trying and someone told me "stop trying and do it", I also pointed out that teammates should help pick up nearby money when the Scout can’t get to it, especially if he’s dead or across the map collecting other drops.
Instead, people kept acting like it was exclusively my job no matter what. The match was already a mess because everyone was struggling with their own roles, but somehow all the blame kept getting pushed onto me. What really annoyed me was an Engineer on the team saying that Scout “only exists to pick up money” and that I was basically useless outside of that. That honestly irritated me more than the missed cash itself.
Eventually I just ragequit because the atmosphere had gotten completely miserable.
I don’t mind criticism if I’m genuinely playing badly, but if money is sitting right next to you and the Scout clearly can’t reach it, maybe help grab it instead of treating one player like a walking vacuum cleaner.
