I come home first. Go right back out for the walk. Once back he waits by the door and does the boof at regular intervals or whenever he hears a creak or a footstep (it’s a noisy building) and will bark, too. It’s irritating and can last for a couple hours. Our place is small and the couch is just a few feet away from the door. Once she comes home he goes wild, runs to get his toy and jumps around wildly. The rest of the night he’s in his basket whimpering. What to do. I’m at my wits end. He’s 14, a medium size mixed breed (dachshund and griffon dog—don’t ask) otherwise in good health. Thanks
