I’m just wondering how serious the “No overnight parking” signs should be taken at the national park managed car parks?

I went up to the peaks a few weeks ago for a two night trip. Went to park up at Milldale car parks on the second day and bailed on the spot had planned because of the signs. What’s the likelihood of enforcement action?

If it’s best to stay clear of these car parks altogether then are there any tips for the type of spots to look out for?
