My best advice for CCC: Las Positas College Honors Transfer Program

(Disclaimer: I’m not affiliated with any of the programs below, just an outside admirer who thinks more people should know about this.)

Every once in a while in life you come across a lifehack so great, it would be criminal to not share. I believe the Las Positas College Honors Transfer Program is one of those opportunities. LPC already has a strong reputation as a Bay-area transfer-focused community college, but the Honors Transfer Program really takes it over the top. Some highlights:

-They get so many people accepted to Berkeley, UCLA, Cal Poly, USC, Stanford, even Yale, it would make your head spin.

-Honors students get real opportunities to do research, work with faculty to develop original projects, and present at conferences like the Bay Honors Research Symposium, at Stanford and/or UC Berkeley.

-The Honors advisor (I won't name-drop, but not hard to find) is one of the most amazing, supportive and driven people you will meet.

-They do a great job helping students navigate honors courses, honors contracts, research projects, transfer requirements, and all the little details that can make the CCC transfer process confusing.

-The Honors Club is active, supportive, and gives students opportunities for leadership, service, workshops, and community. (plus a private study room and free snacks)

And that's on top of everything else Las Positas has going for it. LPC is closely linked to major transfer support programs like UCLA TAP, UCLA CCCP, UC Davis TOP, and Berkeley’s CCTS. A lot of instructors also have serious academic or industry backgrounds, including PhDs, Lawrence Livermore connections, Silicon Valley experience, and other real-world expertise. Anyways, I'll stop there, I know that NOTHING is guaranteed in the CCC transfer process, but Las Positas College and the Honors Transfer program is about the closest thing you can get to a sure thing.
