Hey, so this might be a stupid question and I apologise in advance but I can't seem to find any way to add cards while having the full list of cards in my deck open within the same window. Is there a native way/add-on to fix this?

Yes I know that I could simply split-screen but the editor pops up whenever I click on a card and that's just annoying to deal with.

If there isn't an add-on for this (I can't seem to find one atm), does anyone suffer from the same issue? I might make an add-on for this specific thing if there aren't any suitable fixes.

Thanks in advance :)

Howdy everyone,

I've been using Anki for a while now and I couldn't help but realise how my pattern recognition skyrocketed, this was kind of a problem for me since I'm not recalling information anymore but simply reciting them. I also wanted to understand the same concept through multiple lenses and Anki alone wasn't helping with that. So I pulled together my totally flashy computer skills and got to work on building an add-on that would solve both of these issues by asking related follow-up questions.

What I mean by related is that this add-on pulls context through surrounding cards, similarly tagged cards and linked cards through nid, and puts them together to provide context for the LLM (local or online (API)). With this context, it generates a pertinent question following the revised Bloom's taxonomy (depending on card's age). If the user answers somewhat correctly, then it tags the card as good_comprehension and if not, then it decreases the level of complexity of the question and tags the card as needs_comprehension for later review.

It's fairly simple, nothing more than correctly prompting LLMs and wrapping it in a nice package. Nevertheless, it has proved to be fairly useful when doing my reviews and preparing for my exams.

If you are interested here's the Anki add-on link to Socranki: ankiweb.net/shared/info/1712352624

And if you're a nerd, here you go: https://github.com/moo-dy/Socranki

I’d love to hear what you think :)

P.S: If you're wondering what I mean by "linked cards through nid", there's this add-on that has been an absolute game changer for me, basically merging Obsidian's linking functionality with Anki. I have contributed to that add-on and yes this add-on works better if cards are linked. But it's not obligatory, as long as you organise your cards by tags or by decks
