Hello I recently acquired a Qidi Q2 and I started printing, printed the normal original benchy and the cube that the printer came with and they came out pretty decently. Then I started trying to print a complex model made out of many parts and they've been printing but they keep having these holes that immediately start showing up on the first layer and you can see them on other layers throughout, in the pictures included you can see them.
I'm printing out the models using the generic PLA you can get from Hobby lobby, which the same PLA printed out the qidi cube just fine and I've used the same PLA from Hobby Lobby to print complex figures like ODST soldiers and it worked great on those. Before anyone ask, yes I read what it says on the top panel and the top panel has been slid back or off the entire time.
I'm also using Orca slicer with the Qidi Q2 profile and the generic PLA profile, because I like Orca slicer and dont like how every 3D printer company wants to make their own slicer. I've tried messing with the settings by slowing down the first layer to 30mm/s and that didn't seem to help. I also read a comment somewhere saying to turn down "Slow down for curve" as that was a bug in Orca, I dont know if its still a bug but I figured Id try anyway. I changed the temperatures to the recommended PLA temp and the bed is 60 C and the fan is always on. Im not sure what other settings I might try?
I've read/heard some people say the Qidi q2 bed sucks so I dont know if its poor adhesion to the bed? And I've also read people say the Qidi q2 fan sucks and to upgrade to a Bambu labs fan, so Im unsure if its a cooling issue? I've tried opening the door up as well to see if that would help, but that didn't seem to help either.
I'm also running the latest firmware for the Qidi Q2 at 1.1.1 and I've auto leveled the bed at 60 C and ran through the input shaping and calibration.
Lastly I read at least in another post when I tried searching for information on similar cases, I saw someone say that this is under extruding? I'm not sure if that's what this is? I looked it up and it said that it could be temporary clogs or extruder or gear issues. And it said to also try increasing flow rate or extrusion multiplier? I think when I was reading the qidi wiki in their printing section they said to try increasing the z offset on the first layer, but that didn't seem to help either
Im rather new to 3D printing so Im not sure what it is and how to go about fixing it. I just find it rather strange since the Benchy came out decent and I printed the Qidi Q2 with the same grey generic PLA from HL, and it printed out with no holes or problems. Is it just this build or is it the slicer or is it under extrusion? Id appreciate any help.
