Preventing a family member from becoming a john doe
This is an odd question and may not fit here.
I haven't been in touch with a family member for years. He hasn't had a phone or internet presence in a very long time. I periodically search his name on my state's casenet, and he's frequently arrested for fentanyl possession and other miscellaneous crimes. He's very likely unhoused. Mental health issues. That's not what my question is about.
I fear he will die on the streets and will become an unidentified body. While we don't have a relationship for many reasons, I still care about him and don't want him to be as lost in death as he is in life.
I've thought about uploading my DNA to additional sites for use in solving crimes and such. Would that help here? Is there anything else proactive I can do in this situation?
