Rate / San Diego

Good day everyone! How much should I rate per hour for a 4bed/4bath (1 or 2 bed and 2 baths to clean most of the time only) 2 living room, dining and a kitchen (sometime garage) x2-3 a week, I usually take 3-5 hrs per day. I can't consider a light clean because they're big family(5 adults) with a toddlers(so imagine every visits).

I'm currently paid $20per hr, i'm so confused of should I stay on my current client or look for a new one. They're my first client. I also need to drive more than 20mins just to get there, bring my own cleaning supplies most of the time (except for the vacuum and towels) I also do get a tip which is $10 sometimes no tip that day.

Please I need advice and more info.
Also, I am well experienced housekeeper and a private home cleaning when I was in Japan. Thank you so much!

I'm a Home Cleaner

I've been a Home cleaner to a wonderful family here in SD for like half a year now! But I only get paid $20 per hour (which i was the one who offered my rate at first, because I thought it was only a very light clean-up) 2-3x per week (3-6hrs) a day. The house is just 1 story with 4-6room(but i don't clean all the rooms just some of) let's just say I clean a 2k+ sq ft in the house (2living room, dining, kitchen and a 2 bathrooms sometimes 2-3rooms). I also provide my own cleaning supplies. I also need to drive 25mins~ or 14-15mil just to get there.
I like the Family that i'm working, their very nice and kind. But practically speaking i'm kinda exhausted thinking, if the price i'm getting is worth it? I don't know if many of here that have the same of side jobs like me, i bet you feel me too.😔 I'm kinda nervous asking for a raise because this is my first client for home cleaner work here in the u.s.
I have a experience of Housekeeping and private home cleaning in Japan, I'm raised in Japan and live there for almost 2 decades.
Can anyone give me some advices? How can I ask my client to give me raise? Or should I look for a new client. I feel like i don't have any motivation to go to work on them because of the exhaustion but at the same time thinking they're so nice family and i really want to help them.
Thank you in advance!🙏🏻

EDIT / UPDATE :
I already talked to my client and asked for a raise to $30 per hour, but unfortunately, they declined my request. 🥲

Honestly, I feel sad and a little hurt. Maybe it’s because they were my very first client. I’ve always worked hard, shown them kindness and respect, and done my best to be diligent in my work. That’s why it’s heartbreaking that they couldn’t even consider giving me a raise after more than half a year of working with them. 😔💔

I’m a very hardworking person, and I’m doing all of this for my family. It truly breaks my heart, but I’m still hoping and praying that I’ll find new clients who are generous, appreciative, and willing to pay a fair rate for my work.😭
