Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a quick update on a journey I’ve been on for the last few week.

It started with a simple observation: why is it so hard to find a specific chapter within the hundreds of NCERT PDFs? We rely on these books for almost every major exam in India, yet the digital experience often feels stuck a decade behind.

We’ve been building quietly, but in just the last few days, we’ve shipped a major piece of the puzzle. We just hit a small milestone today with our v1.0.4 release, and I wanted to share the progress.

The Latest Progress (Built this week):

  • Deep TOC Search: We realized early on that just searching for book titles wasn't enough. Over the last few days, we finished a pipeline to map out every single chapter title from the entire NCERT catalog. You can now search within books instantly.
  • Contextual Help (Piku): We introduced a humble AI librarian named Piku. Instead of just matching words, Piku tries to understand why you’re studying (like UPSC or JEE) and suggests the right chapters based on current syllabus trends.
  • Focus-First UI: We’ve been obsessing over a clean, Material 3 design. We believe a study tool should be professional, fast, and stay out of your way.

The Bigger Picture:

Building this has taught us that modernizing education isn't about "disrupting" the system; it’s about being a small, helpful part of a much bigger story. We’ve had a lot of late nights trying to get the chapter mappings exactly right, and we’re still learning every day.

We aren't making big claims. We’re just trying to make the path a little smoother for the next generation of learners, one code at a time.

If you’re interested in following the progress or want to try it out, you can find it here: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/lcjfndfdhmhjnbjpldejbhmmfcloimhp?utm_source=item-share-cb

We’d love to hear your experiences or any advice from fellow builders and students!

Hey everyone,

If you're preparing for boards, JEE, or NEET, you know that NCERT is your bible. But let's be honest—the official website feels like it was built in the early 2000s. It’s clunky, the navigation is slow, and it’s just not a great experience when you're trying to stay focused.

That’s why I built Pustak, a Chrome extension designed to make reading NCERTs actually enjoyable.

What makes Pustak different?

  • High Performance: No more waiting for pages to load. We use optimized TOC bundles so you can jump between chapters instantly.
  • Multilingual Support: Access books in dozens of languages (Hindi, English, Urdu, and more) with a single click.
  • Modern Aesthetics: A clean, material 3 UI that doesn’t distract you. No ads, no clutter.
  • Meet Piku: Our friendly mascot who hangs out in the sidebar to help you navigate the library.
  • Offline First: Built with the goal of letting you study without being tethered to a flaky internet connection.

It's completely free . I really wanted to build something that felt premium and respected a student's time.
