Just started Babylon’s Ashes

Just a mindless ramble kind of thing since none of my friends read this series

I finished Nemesis Games yesterday and started Babylon’s Ashes today and I’m having so much trouble giving any kind of fuck about a couple of the perspectives so far lmao

I know they’ll grow on me but after getting to bounce between the main crew in Nemesis Games I’m sitting here waiting for the main crews storyline to pop back up hahaha

Fully understand the Medina Station and Free Navy storylines will pickup they just feel like “filler” (genuinely just the first word that came to mind I entirely realize it’s all thematically and narratively vital and am enjoying it for what it is)

Then I got to Cibola Burn and Murtry might genuinely be the most hate-worthy Corpo-loving POS lmao

James SA Corey are startlingly talented at writing truly despicable humans with very humanly hate-able qualities

This series is so god damn good, but reading what he did to Amos and then just jumping back up to orbit has me stressing for my big burly boy 😭😂

Edit: finished the book and now I’m just excited for the planet to get its post office someday 🥹

But in all seriousness loved this entry and can’t wait to start Nemesis Games tomorrow

I’m on chapter 31 of book 3 and LOVING the series so far, just need to vent to a group who knows what I’m talking about when I say that Melba FUCKING SUCKS

Totally appreciate that she’s written to be this way and it’s working absolutely effectively, it’s just frustrating to watch logic her way into awful trains of thought lmao

Edit: have since finished book 3 and fully admit I was too quick to judge, I can tell her arc isn’t done yet but she was awesome at the climax of book 3 haha

Onto Cibola Burn
