I don't know if anyone is familiar with Flock cameras, but I started to notice them around town. Not sure when they went up, but I saw 3 while running errands this morning. I don't mean to sound like an alarmist, but this is part of the surveillance state we've been warned of since I was a kid. I'd like to push the Board of Supervisors to consider a ban on them.
The next meeting is this Thursday, May 7. The more that show up to make public comment or in support of the ban the better.
You can also email them a public comment to be read for the record at publiccomment@carsoncity.gov. emailed comments are due by 3pm the day before the meeting.
If you don't know what they are, I'd suggest looking them up. I don't see how either side of the political spectrum should think this is a good idea.
