Here’s a look at a watch I’ve been working on for nearly 3 years on and off. I originally purchased a stainless steel Concord Mariner for $30, but it was non-working and required a replacement movement. I decided to challenge myself and sought out a replacement movement that was manually wound, not quartz. And with an original movement that was 1.9mm thick, finding a movement was exceptionally difficult. After multiple months of research and design work to ensure the movement would fit, I purchased a Piaget 9P movement on eBay for about $150, and personally turned a stainless steel exhibition caseback on the lathe. As it stands, the watch is 5.5mm thick, but with the original closed caseback it drops to 4.5mm. I also decided to forego the carbon fibre dial I made, as I quite like the simplicity and visibility of the movement decoration.

Let me know what you guys think!
