I’m done and home

Well not gonna lie, I absolutely hated you lot on Tuesday!!
I didn’t do well at all. Surgery went really well. Surgeon said I have some huge blood vessels that caused issues but all was well
Unfortunately I didn’t come out very well. The gas pain was no joke. The pain meds would make everything ok for a short time but then make me violently sick.
So I spent 3 hours in recovery, and then back to the ward.

The next day wasn’t too bad, pain from the gas still utterly sucked. I did throw up once due to one of the meds the second was a large amount of bile.
I was allowed home yesterday evening which shocked all the nurses as they said from how poorly I was they were expecting me to be in several days!!

So today is going ok. Managed a milky coffee and trying to get my water in.
Found out I can’t lie flat as that makes me sick. And the gas pain still sucks!!

Finally on the other side and feeling better about things and know that this is for the best.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and prayers. They were most appreciated.

Today’s the day.

Morning everyone.
Well it’s 5:30am here and just getting my things together as I’ve got to be at the hospital at 7:30am.
I’m scared but not as scared as I thought I’d be. Slept pretty well.
I got myself all upset yesterday and convinced myself I was gonna die! So I wrote letters to my husband and kids, but I actually think that helped get the fear out of that makes sense!!
I think I’m ready, looking forward to later on today and it’s done.
Anyone else having their ops today?

Can you lovely lot give me an honest time frame of recovery after the surgery?
I’m just trying to plan everything and wondering how long I’ll be out of action. (Surgery on the 12th May)
Been buying books, puzzles etc to keep myself busy and not sure if I have enough activities.

Also when were you all back driving?
I’ve been told 4-6 weeks as got to be able to withstand an emergency stop, but I’m sure I’ve seen people say they were back driving after a week and absolutely fine.
I know everyone is different but just a rough idea would be good.
Thanks
