What can you do if you experience sensory overload from lights & sounds? 😵💫
Hello!
I have noticed that panic or anxiety begins to build up when I am feeling overwhelmed or over stimulated by lights or visuals and sometimes sound.
When I feel the discomfort building up I try to lay down, cover my eyes, turn down the volume of my music, and breathe in/out slowly with my jaw hanging loose. (Floppy Fish, Floppy Fanny technique.)
Sometimes I’ll grab something cold and place it on the back of my neck or under my arm pit. I’ll even use my wand massager on my stomach, throat, arms, neck, etc to counter any tightness or discomfort from body load. Drink water and eat or snack a little bit. Walk or move around and go outside for fresh air, etc.
It seems to me that because the visuals get intense when my eyes are closed that this makes me uneasy and anxious because I can’t really “get away from it,” and thus can sometimes lead to triggering anxiety that feels like it leads to panic. Which I obviously want to avoid!!
Does anyone else experience this? How do you get past it when the visuals pick up and you can’t stop or control it? (At least, I haven’t figured out how to control it.)
Typically I take ibuprofen magnesium, Theanine, COQ10, citrulline, lysine & arginine combo supplements at least a week in advance to prepare myself and limit anxiety or panic as best that I can.
Other than that, I have a great time on acid. I do love how theanine eases the come up and makes massage and touch feel so good!!
Thanks!!
