I am quitting my job and leaving the US to pursue other opportunities. I was intending to wrap up everything I need to within 60 days. However, due to some delays in selling property, I might need to stay here for some additional time(probably just an additional 2 weeks past the 60 days).

Given my timeline, I am planning on filing a I-539 change of status to B-2 and then “abandoning” my application once I leave, considering the application is unlikely to be processed before then. Is this the best option to maintain my status considering I need to stay only for a couple of additional weeks? Do I have any other options?
