Happened again. Crazy driver refuses to stop for 3 students halfway crossing in this crosswalk

In Waipahu, there are a lot of drivers who will willingly speed through these lanes to 'save time', which is stupid because they will 99% end up stopping at the traffic lights ahead in both directions. But that doesn't matter to them. They think speeding up faster to cut off students and other people crossing this crosswalk will make them save time.

Today, three students grouped together were on the crosswalk. It was empty in both directions. But as the group was crossing, out of nowhere a pickup truck driver is speeding down the lane. You would expect them to slow down and stop for the group to finish crossing. Nope. The crazy driver continued speeding and cut off the three students. The students were nearly past halfway of the crosswalk.

Of course they all had to step back because the psychopath driver didn't want to slow down. I'm sure that driver was thinking he's all tough and badass for cutting off 3 young students.

This was just today. But I have witnessed this way too many times for this crosswalk. Even if both directions are clear, some idiotic driver will be speeding way above the limit. You can't risk it when you see them coming. Either you're forced to walk faster or stop in the crosswalk. But even if you try to walk faster, you cannot outwalk or outrun a speeding vehicle going 50mph or more in this zone.

Speaking of speeding in this zone, I just don't understand WHY these idiots do it. You speed so much just to end up pressing the brakes hard because of the traffic light or the line of traffic you will reach in either direction.

This zone has a lot of people walking during the day. Students, people going to work, church goers, people walking to the stores, etc.

This zone is surrounded by a church, stores, library, and apartments/houses.

There needs to be speed bumps to slow down the vehicles. And no, you're not going to 'waste' or 'lose' time if you're slowed down in this zone.
