First off, our driver Will Talley walked away with no injuries. A little shaken and stirred but good to go.
Not the best weekend at Laguna for us at VGR. We had been chasing a power issue from Sebring and found our prob after Laguna qualifying which put us into a position to having to do an engine swap. Successfully swapped we felt good the #21 was back to 100%.
After about 4-5 hours to sleep for race day, car was feeling good and we were making progress until we got hip checked into the tire wall at around Lap 12 and flipped the car in the gravel.
Lots of “you can fix it” jokes in the garage (I’m the carbon technician for the team too) but the car is fixable. On the plus side, it still runs and no issues on the new motor. 😜
Rough week. But that’s racing and the not so great moments when your on a crew. Plan is to fix, refocus and come back for Mid Ohio.
