I hope this post doesn't end up giving me more proof of it, but this is my FIRST time ever using this app. I'm really getting into a lot of college admissions shit since I think I'm nearing the age where I should start planning ahead for it, so I installed reddit because I realized you could literally get SO MANY personal experiences from people.
So I posted something just about an hour or two ago asking something about whether South Asians can get into Harvard.
Mind you all- I am a very polite person. It is something I quite literally pride myself on. Being nice to others.
So I worded it politely and posted it. Only for almost all the people (with exceptions for a few people) to reply in such rude ways that I'm really starting to think of uninstalling it now for the sake of my mental health.
Some people thought I was insulting Americans and assuming they sucked at Geography simply because I stated that the very small country I come from (often unknown to many people ive talked with in the past) was probably foreign to them.
Others were constantly passive aggressive or just straight up rude in tone. Like, I get that every platform has its own level of toxicity, but in an EDUCATION RELATED COMMUNITY??
So if you're reading this, take this as your reminder to be nice today. It doesn't cost much.
