What is the best way to learn this game without watching hundreds of hours of YT? I have 55 hours in the game spread across about a decade because every time i go to put some time in to learn the game, im reminded why i play for 5 hours and then dont pick it up for another few months. I've tried low pop servers and tutorial servers and still have the same problem, i've never even built a furnace because i get raided out/killed as soon as i put up a foundation and try building a base. I go to areas where the only bases i see are 1x2's and try to stay away from everyone elses base and yet i just logged on after a very successful base build yesterday only to find all my doors gone, TC gone, all bins looted but the frame of the base still in tact. I had 48 hours worth of upkeep on the base and was literally going to logon to finally build my first furnace. Do long-time players not want new players to enjoy the game or is this just rust? Is it just a toxic wasteland of KOS and steal everything? To be clear, i fully intend to pvp once i've learned the game but it seems like there is no avenue for new players because the ones Rust comes up with get gatekept by people that have been playing for years. If you cant tell, im a bit frustrated but i really want to learn this game because it looks fun once you know what the hell is going on....
