CloudGear v1.6 lands hot on the heels of the v1.5 update — a rapid follow-up driven by player feedback, focused on reliability and quality-of-life polish.

The headline change: a complete rewrite of game controller input handling, fixing the stuck and dropped-input issues a handful of users had been seeing during fast button mashing or rapid trigger flicks.

Plus:

• Smarter cellular handling — CloudGear now sticks to Wi-Fi or Ethernet when one is available, only falling back to mobile data if no other connection exists.
• Home button on the navigation bar — return to your bookmark grid from any page with a single tap.
• Improved frame pacing performance for smoother gameplay
• Fixed an issue causing the device frame rate to be reported incorrectly in the connection stats
• Miscellaneous bug fixes and other improvements

CloudGear v1.5 is our biggest update yet. Three headline features change how you play cloud games on iPhone and iPad:

• Quick Launch bookmarks — bookmark a specific game and launch it with one tap, bypassing the streaming service’s user interface entirely.
• Home Screen Widgets — add any bookmark to your iOS Home Screen. Tapping the widget launches the bookmark directly, without opening CloudGear first.
• Amazon Luna support — stream Luna at the maximum resolution and bitrate the service offers, even on iPhone, with full controller support.

• Find and launch your bookmarks straight from Spotlight search
• Customise your bookmarks — edit the title, address and icon, or set any bookmark as your home page
• Bookmarks now sync across all your devices via iCloud
• Support for custom mouse cursors (used by Boosteroid and Amazon Luna)
• Navigate the home screen using a game controller or keyboard
• Added “Clear cookies and cache” to advanced settings
• GFN: All games are now playable in mobile mode, even without a keyboard and mouse
• GFN: Fixed performance overlay showing the wrong layout

• Boosteroid: Fixed mouse not working on external display when the main screen dims
