I volunteer with an English-language learner, and I'd like to send her some new intermediate-level American English recordings to help her practice her listening comprehension.

I've kind of exhausted Voice Of America, which provided a lot of cultural, historical, and news-related articles that she found interesting, and I'm looking for more along those lines. She's an adult learner and loves to learn about other cultures, places, traditions, history, and events.

She (and I) would be bored by artificial dialogue-based listening practice. Two people having a genuine conversation about an interesting topic would be fine.

Ideal recordings would be free, in the 5-10 minute range, moderately paced, and, again, in American rather than British (or another nationality's) English.
