I have just finished rewatching S1 and S2 of the show and am now fully caught up in S3. I find season 3 enjoyable, nothing like the first 2 seasons of course, but fun in a chaotic way.
The main thing that bothers me though, about season 3, is the way it seems like Rue is suddenly able to just take drugs and drink like a person who has never had addiction problems. This is supposed to be the same girl who would steal drugs whenever she saw them, take as much of and as many drugs as possible with no sensibility of when to stop? But now she’s able to just do a line, or smoke some weed and stop at that, walking by drugs and not even really seeming interested?
I’m an ex addict myself and maybe this is subjective, but I know that if I were to relapse I wouldn’t be able to have the self control to just go on a few days and off a few days, on top of that with the self control she exhibits over the years now. As she said herself she relapsed and has been taking drugs since high school graduation.
I don’t know, am I being ignorant in this or what do you guys think?
