Hey folks,

I relocated to Seattle last year mainly because my manager was based here (and part of my team is in the Bay Area). Recently, my manager left and my new manager is now in HQ2. So now nobody in my team is in Seattle.

Given that, I’m thinking about moving back to California — ideally Irvine, since I lived there for ~6 years and would prefer being back.

Has anyone gone through a similar situation?

• Is it feasible to switch back to a different office location (same role/team)?
• How did you approach the conversation with your manager/HR?
• Any gotchas around team alignment, org approvals, or location policies?

Would really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thanks!
