Hair Color
I need help figuring out my hair color situation because I’m getting really frustrated.
I’m attaching:
- A photo of my natural hair growing out
- A photo right after I dye it to match my natural color
- Several photos of what it fades into after a few weeks
Every single time I color my hair, it fades into a reddish/warm tone that I absolutely hate. My natural color is much cooler/ashy/more neutral, and I’m trying to get back to something close to that.
I’ve already tried:
- Joico Blue Shampoo + Conditioner
- Matrix Brass Off Blue Mask weekly
Neither seems to make any noticeable difference once the color starts fading warm/red again.
I’m hesitant about toners because I’m worried they’ll still leave me with a visible grow-out line compared to my natural color. My other issue is that I’m starting to get greys, so I’d like some level of coverage but may just need to stop and let the grays come in. :(
What would you recommend?
I’d love advice from stylists or anyone who has dealt with hair constantly fading red/warm when your natural color isn’t warm.
