I’ve played WoW for many years, but always been reeeeaaaally casual about it, to the point where I didn’t even do Normal raids or Mythic+. It was mostly because I never fully committed to the game, even though I felt I had the skill and knowledge for a long time.

I came back in Midnight with the goal of playing at a high level. I started a little late, but cleared 9/9 Heroic in week 5 with mostly purple logs, many above 90. Since getting AOTC, I’ve mostly been grinding keys and I’m currently at 3.3k io. I know it’s not amazing, but I feel good about it as someone just getting into this.

I really want to improve and become a better player, and I’m very motivated to do so. My ultimate goals are CE and top 1% in M+. I’m not looking for shortcuts, and I don’t mind if I don’t achieve them this season, I’d just like to make progress towards them.

My issue is that I have no idea how to get into a CE focused, Mythic prog guild. Most guilds already have a main roster, and it feels hard to get into a guild where I could fill a spot because I have no relevant experience on my WoW resume.

How do people usually make that jump into Mythic raiding? What would you recommend someone in my position focus on?
