Has anybody tried just sending the receipt # instead of the receipt I-797 notice of action (I have not received this) along with their adjustment of status application (online) and gotten a response.

I am thinking about just sending my filled out I-130 application along with my receipt number and an explanation of why I don't have the I-797 but don't know if this is accepted or if other people have done this sucessfully before.

Any insight?
