Hi everyone,
I've been shooting for a while with an old Canon PowerShot SX530 HS bridge camera, but I'm finally ready to make the jump to a mirrorless system. My main focus is wildlife, specifically bird photography, which I know is quite demanding on gear.
I'm trying to keep my budget reasonable, so I'm looking at the used market (MPB). Here is the cart I've put together:
Body: Canon EOS R10 - €844
Wildlife Lens: Canon RF 100-40Omm f/5.6-8 IS USM - €729
Standard Lens: Canon RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM- €82
Total: €1,655
I have a few questions for you all:
Performance: How much of a jump should I expect in terms of autofocus and keepers compared to my old PowerShot?
Price Check: Do these prices look right for 2026? I've seen some variations online and want to make sure I'm not overpaying for used gear.
The "Hidden" Costs: Aside from the camera and lenses, what else should I budget for? I'm thinking about extra batteries but what about SD card specs for high-speed bursts? I already have a SanDisk Extreme 128go. Anything else?
Thanks in advance for the help!
