Hey everyone,

I’m about to graduate with a BTech in AI (India) in less than a month. My CGPA is 7.1. I don’t have any internships, but I have around 3 academic projects and 3 personal projects.

I’m aiming to get into data-related roles (Data Analyst / Junior Data Analyst / Business Analyst).

I’m planning to spend the next 6–12 months doing the following seriously:

Strengthening SQL, Excel, Python, and Power BI

Building 2–3 strong, end-to-end projects (with dashboards and business insights)

Applying consistently to jobs and internships

Trying to network and get referrals

My biggest concerns are:

Is it realistic to expect any opportunity (job/internship) after this level of effort?

How bad does a 6–12 month gap look if I don’t land something immediately?

Do companies in India actually consider freshers like me without internships?

Should I also target roles like MIS/Reporting as a backup?

At what point should I pivot strategy if nothing works?

I’m willing to work hard (6–10 hours daily), but I want a realistic picture from people in the industry.

Please be brutally honest—I’d rather hear the truth than false reassurance.

Thanks in advance.
