Several years? ago I read a book I can no longer remember the title or author of.

A man, possibly separated from military or law enforcement, adrift, ends up in New Orleans.

He becomes intrigued by a man who is involved with or owns an occult shop, and has a family history of witchcraft.

It was set in current day, post-Katrina.

I believe both men were neither Cajun nor Creole, and most likely white.

There were missing, possibly murdered children?

And the above-ground mausoleum complex plays a vital part.
