Opiates and the nhs
The anonymity of this platform makes me feel comfortable posting here and I know there will be others who can empathise sympathise … so my dad passed away recently . He ended his life in agony all because at some stage in his life a doctor wrote the phrase ‘drug seeking behaviour’ on his records . I have the same on mine . The nhs prescribed us both medications and then ripped them away - no taper , nothing … so then we’re forced to buy from the places we buy from - costs a fortune e and if we’re caught we’re in trouble - or worse than being in trouble - in withdrawal!
My dad was begging for something stronger than paracetamol at the end and even though he was literally hours from death the answer was still no…the only relief he got came from me, his daughter and ‘H’/‘F’ (if you know you know ).
So honestly thank god the sources we have exist and we must protect them at all costs.
